‘Lest We Forget’ is an offering to those caught up in the 2009 Black Saturday Bushfires ‘Lest We Forget’ involved the children of fire ravaged Marysville, Middle Kinglake and Strathewen primary schools.
‘The song came to me in a dream the night after I was talking to a friend about his and his friends experiences on Black Saturday. I realised how easy it could be for life to go on as usual for those of us living in the cities. The next morning I woke up with the words and melody in my head. I wanted to share it with all of those going through the heart break of devastation and loss. It was all I felt I could give, like so many others at the time who felt so helpless to do anything. From there the song seemed to grow a life of its own. It offered Cam an amazing opportunity to be involved in a project that brightened the lives of the affected communities, especially the children.
Lest we forget debuted at#1 on the ARIA Australasian Singles Chart! (June 1, 2009)
